Seattle Laurelhurst Updated Look Guest Bathroom Remodel
Nestled in a cozy condo in the heart of the Laurelhurst neighborhood, our clients wanted to make their forever home more suited to their current needs. Their guest bathroom was a significant pain point – with outdated fixtures and unnecessary features that only made navigating the room more difficult.
They wanted to improve the accessibility of the room, while simultaneously upgrading its luxury and aesthetics. Together, we were able to design a bathroom that has sleek functionality, easy upkeep, and striking beauty.
The two things these clients loved about their original vanity were its large mirror and drawers. We decided to take these must-keep features to the next level in our finished project, with a large, lighted mirror that doubles stealthily and handily as a medicine cabinet, and a vanity comprised of two large, roomy drawers.
The vanity’s floating nature makes it more accessible, and its drawer pulls enhance its ease of use. The wide, modern sink pairs beautifully with the bathroom’s contemporary, artful style. Tucked away on the side of the vanity are bidet controls to the raised, skirted toilet – a major upgrade for user comfortability and keeping the toilet clean.
Everything about this space was designed for seamless operations: the shower controls were placed on the opposite wall to avoid hot/cold blasts, integrated lighting was installed along the stall’s upper edges for maximum visibility, and aesthetic grab bars that match the matte-black fixtures throughout the room are placed in optimal locations for assisting users and preventing falls.
The showstopper in the room is certainly the walk-in shower with a frameless glass sliding door, which replaced a seldom-used jetted tub with high walls, removing an unnecessary obstacle and clunky eyesore from the room.
The floors are not only stylish but functional; both the large, beige floor tiles and the playful penny tile on the shower floor give incredible grip, ensuring a non-slip surface even in watery conditions. The lighting in the room was vastly improved as well, guaranteeing a well-lit space at any time of day.
The clients were able to hone their unique personal tastes in this remodel. Their affinity for warm neutrals and modern, understated elegance shone through in this design. The simple, yet unexpected features of this bathroom mean that its looks will impress for years to come. We were so happy to deliver a space that reflects the clients’ savvy style while maximizing comfortability and function.
